Across the courtyard from our shop is the historic 1847 Mossville Methodist church which Adam and Nicole Karr call home. The interior of the church has been remodeled and boasts 22 foot ceilings which are supported by a king post timber frame. The original beams of the church were sawn from Douglas fir, pine and red oak, and were undoubtedly taken from the nearby forest. Framing members less than 20 feet long were sawn on the up and down watermill that was once on nearby Maple Run. All timbers that are longer than 20 feet were hand hewn with axes. There are eight beams in the building that were hewn to a length of 40 feet. The eight beautiful stained glass windows are still present, as well as the large mural of the Good Shepherd.
