In progress, to be delivered next week, we have this beautiful Walnut Murphy Bed. The design of the front is new, and it features a sculpted wood handle. The curved horizontal element flips 90 degrees to become the foot of the bed when it is folded down. Under the bookcase is a roll out nightstand.

East Side Wall Bed and Office

This wallbed, bookcase, and desk are being delivered in Manhattan this morning. The client wanted a full-size fold down bed and an office that would go with her existing modern Cherry kitchen as well as her more traditional craftsman oak furniture.  The bookcase features adjustable shelves and three dovetailed drawers on soft closing slides. The arch pulls are by Lee Valley.

In the Shop: Credenza

The custom French Walnut Credenza in the shop was inspired by this piece.

Filled with delightful swirling grain, the credenza’s stunning slab lumber was sourced from a single tree cut into flitches by specialists in imported and figured logs.

The three doors slide to reveal an adjustable shelf. It will make quite a statement in its Philadelphia home.

In the shop: Four Post bed with Live Edge headboard

This poster bed, constructed of hand selected Pennsylvania walnut, features a live edge slab as the headboard. The rough edges have been chiseled and sanded away, but the natural contours of the tree’s exterior remain. It is truly one of a kind and celebrates the essence of the tree. The posts on this one are octagonally tapered, like a pencil.

After three days in the finishing studio and seven weeks of building, assembling and sanding, I can finally say that the 5 coat finish is done.
