This kitchen looks much more finished, now that the granite counters are on. The homeowner chose polished brass knobs and bin pulls and they do go well with the natural cherry wood. Cherry ages over time due to sun exposure and mellows to a rich tone. A few of the high-end details in this room include: dovetailed hardwood drawers on soft-close self-closing under mount slides, a trash and recycling pullout, pantry pullout trays, a wood paneled dishwasher, and a furniture style case piece with raised panels and glass doors .
This lovely custom kitchen was constructed of hard maple and stained to look like aged cherry wood. That kept the costs of the job a bit lower than it would have been using actual cherry lumber. This kitchen features flat panel doors that are dressed up with the addition of a bead and beaded door and drawer openings. The homeowner chose antiqued brass bin pulls and cupboard latches. The lady of the house is an avid baker and wanted a stand alone furniture style hoosier cabinet to provide a home and a power source for her stand mixer. the working flour bin and sifter are a nice touch. The upper cabinets in this kitchen have glass doors. The island has seating, a second sink, dishwasher and trash compacter built in. Above the cookbook nook, a microwave hides behind doors that rollback into the cabinet cavity. In the corner, there are a set of very cool 90 degree drawers that are visible in this newspaper photograph. This is the same house with the walnut master suite. The pantry door (seen in the first photo) has a chalkboard for a panel, a perfect spot for the grocery list.
This pair of nightstands, dresser, and bathroom vanity all look great in a new master suite. The matching walnut wood, modern lines, splayed legs, and chrome art deco hardware work well with the silver fabric-covered headboard and blue walls. In this case, the client found a furniture elsewhere online and wanted a whole suite of furniture custom made to fit this room. The effect is a serene and luxurious escape. There is also a matching wooden panel on the jacuzzi tub (not pictured) on the wall opposite the double vessel vanity with storage tower. The glass tile work was beautiful throughout the bathroom and into the large shower. Additionally, there was a dressing vanity built for this bedroom set, designed after the below photo that the client provided.
These cabinets were designed for a large room that has zones that serve as media room and office spaces. The built-in printer cabinet and entertainment center would provide plenty of elegant storage space for favorite books and photographs while giving the room a unified look. It can sport straight lines or be more formal, with fluted columns and arched tops. The same classic style also works well as a desk, as seen in the drawing below. Pullouts, doors, and drawers can be tailored to the use: file folders for a desk, glass doors for components- the options are endless.
